Cruising from Vancouver to Skagway, Alaska

In 2023, we went on an epic family adventure, cruising from Vancouver up to Skagway, Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder. From the moment we stepped onto the ship, it was clear—we were in for a an amazing experience. The crew was friendly, the ship ran like clockwork, and Disney knows how to make things seamless.

Sailing out of Vancouver, we made our way through Alaska’s Inside Passage—forests, mountains, glaciers, and the kind of scenery that makes you put your phone down (well, for a minute). We spotted whales, dolphins, and seabirds right from the deck. Alaska's nature is awe inspiring.

The onboard vibe was classic Disney—full of stuff for kids and grown-ups alike. Broadway-style shows, character meetups, and plenty of ways to just chill. You never really ran out of things to do, which is kind of the point.

By the time we reached Skagway, it was early—just after 6 a.m.—but worth the early wake-up. The town felt like a time capsule from the Gold Rush days. Think old-timey charm with a backdrop of wild, rugged beauty. Whether you were panning for gold or hiking into the wilderness, it felt like a real departure from everyday life.

All in all, this cruise was a mix of adventure, relaxation, and family memories—exactly what we were hoping for.
